New Delhi, India: June 12, 2012 – MIL/GBA/IR Summary – J.P.Jain, Governing Member GBA – If political activities are given a camera eye then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is the popular choice of Congress as well UPA for the election of President of India; in that case, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may provisionally keep the Finance Ministry under his additional charge.
Pranab Mukherjee is also eager to attain this status and that was the reason that he cancelled his trip to Kabul later this week. He has been wishing to be the Prime Minister long ago but his luck did not give him a chance. Now his luck seems to be stronger than ever before.
On this issue, Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist and Lead Man of GBA, an NGO that promotes broader integration of the people and the country said,”there is no doubt that Pranab Mukherjee being the senior most Minister of the Congress Dynasty stands a good chance as a strong probable of the Congress, but he shall have to cross over many impediments.”
Firstly, who shall replace him as a Finance Minister and much more. So far the Finance Ministry is concerned; the PM Manmohan Singh can take over this additional charge till alternative arrangement is made.
“The problem is not restricted to this issue alone, it is quite wider, Mr. Mukherjee also leads different groups of ministers apart from being the leader of the Lok Sabha.
“Even Mamta Bannerjee is not ready to support Mr. Pranab’s candidature; Manas Bhuniya, the Congress leader and Minister in West Bengal has been approached to pressurize Ms. Mamata Banerjee to lend her support to Pranab Mukherjee if he is so chosen by the UPA High Command, will it be a tough challenge to the Opposition?
In this regard an emergency meeting by the Congress leaders is expected with its allies, the Trinamool Congress, NCP, the Samajwadi Party and the Left Party to sort out this issue.
Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, Continued, “No one should take Mr. Mulayam Singh as a routine supporter of Pranab Mukherjee, he himself desires to be nominated as a candidate for the President of India, his wish is very well known to Sonia Gandhi, the things are not so easy, this fact is also known to Mamata Bannerjee and she had once promised him. Since the political promises are never stable, see and watch.”
Dr. (Swamy) Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist said, ” Mulayam Singh is a very important player in the Presidential election; shall he be satisfied for the post of the Vice-President or not less than the President or will he let the things happen as they are expected to move with some other political understanding? It is a test of his strong will and statesmanship how he plays his cards?
“The stars of Mulayam Singh are also not as weak as the people may think, it depends on his skill and will of operation, whether or not he would like to en-cash or postpone them?
